Caroline Macomber, AIF, CRPS
Caroline is a Fiduciary Consultant at Portfolio Evaluations, Inc. and has worked closely with corporate, non-profit, and government sector retirement plan sponsors for over seventeen years. Her focus is on developing and implementing customized solutions to meet programs’ long-term goals and objectives for fiduciary best practices and achieve successful participant outcomes. Her experience covers areas such as investment policy design, investment performance monitoring and evaluation, investment manager selection/due diligence, fee benchmarking due diligence, vendor selection, and retirement readiness curriculums. She offers her clients a broad industry perspective and specialized expertise to thoughtfully guide their decision-making, while ensuring both a prudent fiduciary process and pursuit of their program’s goals are always at the forefront.
Caroline spent years working as a member of the field sales and service team for Nationwide’s corporate sector retirement plans division, most recently serving as a Senior Relationship Manager, consulting with the largest plans in the New England territory. She acted as a liaison to sponsors, third-party administrators, and financial advisors, creating and implementing strategic roadmaps for their plans and encouraging optimization of operational efficiencies and enhancements. Prior to this, Caroline was a Field Service Representative, where she focused on participant education, enrollment, and retirement readiness outcomes.
Her background also includes time at the home office of the independent broker-dealer Commonwealth Financial, where she provided support to advisors on a wide range of topics such as provider selection, benchmarking, IRS and DOL regulations, and service model best practices. She also spent time as a wealth management associate with the Investment Specialist of a large Northwestern Mutual com-plex.
Caroline graduated cum laude from the Honors program at Saint Michael’s College and holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation from The Center for Fiduciary Studies and the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS®) designation from The College for Financial Planning.
