For calendar year 2019, the annual limitation for an individual with “self-only” coverage according to a high-deductible health plan is $3,500. The annual limitation for an individual with family coverage in a high deductible health plan is $7,000, an increase of $100 from the $6,900 limit for 2018. A high deductible health plan is defined as a plan with an annual deductible not less than $1,350 for self-only coverage or $2,700 for family coverage, with the annual out-of-pocket expenses – deductibles, co-payments, etc. – not to exceed $6,750 for self-coverage and $13,500 for family coverage.
