Since inception, PEI has made a concerted effort to enrich the communities in which we live and work by supporting the causes close to the hearts of our employees and friends. This year, we sought to expand on these initiatives with our First Annual Community Outreach Month.
Over the course of four weeks, one day per week was set aside for volunteering efforts by interested employees. We are pleased to report that two-thirds of the company participated, having donated their time to either the Somerset County Park Commission or the Market Street Mission in Morristown.
Volunteers assisted based on each organization’s needs for the day. This included removing overgrown vines that were suffocating healthy trees at the Somerset County Park Commission and sorting clothes donations at the Market Street Mission so they could be sold at the Mission’s thrift shop.
Throughout the company’s history, our philanthropic efforts have been directed to benefit organizations such as the March of Dimes, Community Food Bank of New Jersey, UNICEF, Wounded Warrior Project, Toys for Tots, Boys and Girls Club of America, Weinberg Regional Food Bank and Family Services of Morris County.
